For two weeks in June, I was on a trip with my church in Malawi, Africa building an orphanage for street kids. The population of Malawi is around 14 million, half of which are children age 17 and under. A lot of these kids act as head of household as the AIDS pandemic is in full effect in this small, Pennsylvania sized country. International Christian Assembly (ICA) has partnered with the Assemblies of God to help build homes and create opportunities for these children. Each home will house two parents and 8 boys that will reside in them until adulthood. It’s an amazing undertaking and they certainly have their work cut out for them.
